      • Children are given Biological E’s Corbevax vaccine.
      • The first Har Ghar Dastak campaign was conducted in November last year.
  3. Union Cabinet has expanded the scope of the public procurement portal Government e-Marketplace (GeM) to allow cooperative societies to register as buyers.
      • Purpose – to help cooperatives in getting competitive prices through an open and transparent process
      • Presently, the registration of cooperatives as “buyers” was not covered within the existing mandate of GeM.
      • It is still not available for use by private sector buyers, the government, as well as the private sector, can become suppliers.
      • The government had launched GeM in 2016 as an end-to-end e-marketplace to facilitate transparent and efficient e-procurement of commonly-used goods and services required by the Centre, states and PSUs. It is a government-to-business platform.

      • The digital life certificates can also be provided through Jeevan Pramaan Portal to avoid hardship of coming in person for aged pensioners/family pensioners.

      • India’s first National Institute of High Altitude Medicine is being built in Bhaderwah.

      • Mr Singh inaugurated six distillation units under the CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (IIIM) for lavender situated at six different places.
      • CSIR-IIIM, Jammu has signed three MOUs with Agro Voltic Power, Mussoorie, Uttarakhand, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar and Fine Fragrance Power Limited, Mumbai.
      • CSIR-IIIM also installed 50 distillation units — 45 fixed and five mobile — at different locations across J-K under CSIR-Aroma Mission.

  1. Indian Naval Air Squadron (INAS) 325 operating the indigenously-built Advanced Light Helicopter MK III has been commissioned into the Indian Navy.
      • The INAS 325 squadron was commissioned into the Navy at a ceremony held at the INS Utkrosh naval air station in Port Blair, Andaman and Nicobar.
      • The squadron is commanded by Commander Avinash Kumar Sharma, who is an experienced pilot.
  2. Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) had signed an agreement with Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) in April for converting six Boeing-767 civilian aircraft into mid-air refuellers for the Indian Air Force (IAF).
      • In addition, HAL is looking at converting Boeing-747s of Air India for a dedicated cargo role.
