  1. Central Govt is planning to launch ‘Jan Samarth’ — a common portal for delivery of various schemes run by different ministries and departments.
      • The new portal is expected to onboard 15 credit-linked government schemes initially.
  2. Central govt has increased the coal gasification target to 100 million tonnes (MT) by 2030, involving investments worth over Rs. 4 lakh crores.
      • The government has provided for a concession of 20% on revenue share of coal used for gasification for encouraging use of clean sources of fuel.

  1. Multi-channel automobile buying and selling platform CarTrade Tech Ltd has entered into an alliance with IDFC First Bank to offer easy and smart financing for used cars.
  2. SBI General Insurance has launched a new health insurance vertical, through which the company plans to focus on new innovative health products, in-house claim settlement process, among others, to boost customer experience.
  3. According to RBI’s Annual Report 2021-22, people in India prefer the Rs 100 denomination banknotes mostly, while Rs 2,000 are least preferred.
      • Among coins, Rs 5 is most preferred, whereas Re 1 is least preferred.
      • This data was collected through the ‘Banknote Survey of Consumers’, which is a part of the RBI’s Annual Report.
      • The value and volume of banknotes in circulation increased by 9.9% and 5%, respectively, during 2021-22.
      • In value terms, the share of Rs 500 and Rs 2000 banknotes together accounted for 87.1% of the total value of banknotes in circulation as on March 31, 2022.
      • In volume terms, Rs 500 denomination constituted the highest share at 34.9%, followed by Rs 10 denomination banknotes, which constituted 21.3% of the total banknotes in circulation as on March 31, 2022.
      • During 2021-22, out of the total Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICNs) detected in the banking sector, 6.9% were detected at the Reserve Bank and 93.1% at other banks.

      • CRE8 tracks the performance of 8 crypto assets that represent over 85% of the total market capitalization of cryptos traded in the Indian Rupee.
      • The currencies are Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance Coin, Ripple, Cardano, Solana, Polkadot, and Dogecoin.
      • The CRE8 index is calculated on the weighted market capitalization (square root) methodology.
      • Further, it is indicative of the total market value of all the crypto assets relative to a certain base period (1 October 2020) and base value (₹1,000).
