      • State Bank of India (SBI) has been appointed as the program manager.
      • This facility would seek to garner around $1.5 billion in financing for EVs.
      • The present rate of interest for electric two-wheelers & electric 3 Wheelers is in the range of 20-25%. That is expected to come down to 10-12%.
      • These funds will be provided to all financial institutions and banks to use in case of defaults in loans (given to borrowers for purchasing EVs).
  2. Indian Oil Corporation has launched India’s first mega-scale Maleic Anhydride Plant to manufacture value-added chemical products at its Panipat Refinery and Petroleum Complex (PRPC).

  1. Flipkart has signed an MoU with the Ministry of Rural Development for the Deendayal Antyodaya YojanaNational Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM) program.
      • Through this partnership, local businesses and self-help groups (SHGs) – especially those that are led by women – will be brought on the e-commerce platform.
      • This MoU is a part of the Samarth Program of Flipkart, which aims to help lower sections of society by bringing them on the online platform and providing them with other services like warehousing etc.

      • PM Narendra Modi has launched the Infrastructure of Small Island Nations for the most vulnerable countries.
        • The IRIS initiative is a part of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient infrastructure that would focus on building capacity, having pilot projects, especially in small island developing states.
        • It is a collaborative effort of India, the UK and Australia, along with the participation of leaders of small island nations Fiji, Jamaica and Mauritius.
      • India has signed the Glasgow Breakthrough Agenda, launched by UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, to deliver clean and affordable technology everywhere by 2030.
        • The Breakthrough Agenda aims to make clean technologies affordable, accessible and attractive for all globally in each of the most polluting sectors by 2030, including the developing countries.
        • The Agenda will bring together public and private sector for speeding up the development and deployment of clean technologies.
      • India Green Guarantee – The UK will provide an “India Green Guarantee” to the World Bank, to provide an additional 750 million pounds for green projects in India.
        • The green guarantee financing will support clean and resilient infrastructure in sectors such as clean energy, transport and urban development.
      • UK’s fund EVs – UK will provide 210 million pounds for transformational green projects in developing countries, including electric vehicles (EVs) in India.
        • The financing will be provided via Private Infrastructure Development Group (PIDG).
        • The UK’s PIDG financing will go to schemes including EV manufacturing in India, green bonds in Vietnam and solar power in Burkina Faso, Pakistan, Nepal and Chad.
      • UK’s new Clean Green Initiative (CGI) – UK launched the initiative to scale up public and private investment in quality, sustainable infrastructure globally.

      • NCDEX stands for National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited.
      • NCDEX e Markets Limited (NeML) is the leading Indian electronic web based, online, commodities spot market and Services Company. It combines best features of financial markets and spot markets.
  2. ICICI Lombard General Insurance has partnered with Vega to offer personal accident insurance cover on every online purchase of Vega helmet.
      • The personal accident insurance policy will provide individuals with the benefit of accidental death with sum insured of ₹1 lakh.
  3. State Bank of India has launched a pre-approved 2-wheeler loan scheme ‘SBI Easy Ride’ through its YONO platform.
      • Eligible SBI customers can avail of end-to-end digital two-wheeler loans through the YONO app without visiting the bank branch.
      • Customers can apply for the Easy Ride loan for an amount up to Rs 3 lakh @10.5% per annum onwards for a maximum tenure of 4 years. The minimum loan amount has been fixed at Rs 20,000.
  4. RBI’s committee, headed by Sudarshan Sen, has provided recommendations on Asset Reconstruction Companies.
      • RBI has also revised its Prompt Corrective Action (PCA) framework.

  6. Asian Development Bank (ADB) has raised USD 665 million from developed countries like UK, Italy, EU etc. to support climate-related projects in Southeast Asia.
      • The ADB manages the regional Green Recovery Platform, which has targeted a total of USD 7 billion for such spending.
      • So far, including earlier pledges, it has raised USD 2 billion.
      • The platform will finance projects for reducing carbon emissions, improving climate resiliency and aiding the region’s recovery from the pandemic.
