1. India’s Deep Ocean Mission (Mission Samudrayaan): An ambitious quest to explore and harness the depths of the ocean.
   • About Deep Ocean Mission–
     • It is a crewed mission to a depth of 6,000 metres in the ocean using an indigenously developed submersible with a three-member crew.
     • Implemented by- Ministry of Earth Sciences
     • Project approved in- 2021
     • Project cost- ₹4,077 crore over a five-year period in a phased manner

   • About Matasya6000–
     • It is a deep-ocean submersible designed to accommodate a crew of three members
     • It is equipped with a suite of scientific sensors and tools
     • It has an operational endurance of 12 hours, which can be extended to 96 hours in the event of an emergency.

2. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has approved maternity, childcare and adoption leave for women soldiers, sailors, air warriors.
   • The decision is in line with inclusive participation of all women in the armed forces, irrespective of their rank.
   • Benefit–
     • It will improve the work condition for the women in military and help to maintain work-life balance.

   • Current leaves available for officers-
     • Maternity leave- leave of 180 days with full pay for each child, subject to a maximum of two children.
     • Childcare leave- leave of 360 days is granted in total service career (subject to child being less than 18 years)
     • Child adoption leave- leave of 180 days is granted after the date of valid adoption of child below one year of age.

1. Karnataka has launched Puneeth Rajkumar Hrudaya Jyoti Yojana to provide treatment to cardiac arrest patients.
   • Objective–
     • To provide treatment to patients within the ‘golden hour’ the period which is crucial to save people who suffer a cardiac arrest.
     • The scheme is named after famous Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar, who died of heart attack.
     • Under the scheme patients will be provided free ECG and Tenecteplase injection will be provided free of cost to those who are critical.

2. The iconic British-era ‘Throne Room’ at the Raj Bhavan in Kolkata has been named after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of Independent India.
   • About Throne room–
     • It has a collection of thrones of iconic historical personalities such as Lord Wellesley and Tipu Sultan, among others.
     • It a collection of oil paintings of Mahatma Gandhi, Subhas Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru, and former West Bengal Chief Minister B.C. Roy.
     • It also displays the urn which was used to carry the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi.

1. HSBC India became the 1st foreign bank to introduce Electronic Bank Guarantee (E-BG).
   • Objective–
     • To facilitate digitization of trade finance
     • Launched by- HSBC & National E-Governance Services Ltd (NeSL).

     
     
   • About E-BG Platform–
     • E-BG Platform simplifies and speed up the guarantee issuance process by using E-stamping and E-signing, removing the need for issuance of paper document.
     • Every process is digitizes beginning from application to verification and delivery.

2. India First Life Insurance has received the registration to undertake life insurance business in the Gujarat International Finance Tec (GIFT) City-International Financial Services Centre (IFSC).
   • Objective–
     • To improve the market presence and capitalize on customer outreach opportunities at a global level.
   • India First is the first life insurance company to receive GIFT City IFSC registration.

3. Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has released new format of Scheme Information Document (SID) for Mutual Funds.
   • Key directives–
     • SEBI has directed mutual funds to disclose scheme portfolio holdings and top 10 holdings by issuer via a functional web link.
     • Funds must reveal sector-wise allocation to help investors assess risk exposure and diversification.
     • ‘Skin-in-the-game’ regulations require disclosure of the fund manager’s investment in the scheme.
     • AMC’s Board of Directors and key personnel’s aggregate investment in the scheme should be disclosed for transparency and accountability.

   • New Norms for Asset Management Companies (AMC)-
     • AMCs directed to disclose benchmark risk-o-meter on the front page of initial offering documents.
     • New simplified SID format to be effective from April 1, 2024.
     • Industry collaboration with AMFI and Mutual Fund Advisory Committee.
   • Objective–
     • To streamline information sharing,
     • To simplify SID preparation, and
     • To increase investors understanding.

4. Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue collection has increased 13% YoY to 72 lakh crore in October.
   • This is second highest GST collection of current financial year after April month.
