  1. World Health Organization (WHO) has released the outcome document of the WHO Traditional Medicine Global Summit 2023in the form of the “Gujarat Declaration”.
    About the declaration
    • It has reaffirmed global commitments towards indigenous knowledges, biodiversity, and traditional, complementary, and integrative medicine.
    • It reiterates that India as host of the WHO Global Traditional Medicine Centre at Jamnagar, Gujarat has an important role in scaling up WHO’s capacities.

    • The app named ‘Indian Heritage’ and the e-permission portal have also been launched.
    • It clearly defines the amenities sought for different monuments as per theAncient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act (AMASR Act) 1958.
    • This is the revamped version of ‘Adopt a Heritage: Apni Dharohar, Apni Pehchaan’

Adopt a Heritage
• It is an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Archaeological Survey of India.
• It was launched in September 2017 on World Tourism Day.
• Under it, the government invites entities, including public sector companies, private sector firms, as well as individuals, to develop selected monuments and heritage and tourist sites across India.
• The project aims to encourage these entities to become ‘Monument Mitras’ and take up the responsibility of developing and upgrading the basic and advanced tourist amenities at these sites.
• The Monument Mitras, in turn, will get limited visibility on the site premises and on the Incredible India website.
• The corporate sector is expected to use corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for the upkeep of the site.

  1. State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the introduction of UPI interoperability in its digital rupee, called Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC).
      • Interoperability is the technical compatibility that enables a payment system to be used in conjunction with other payment systems, according to the RBI.
      • Interoperability of UPI with the digital rupee means all UPI QR codes are compatible with CBDC apps.
      • The interoperability of UPI and CBDC will ensure seamless transactions between a customer and merchant without having the need to switch between multiple digital platforms.

        • Tenure: Two years.

          The BCs will provide digital and financial services beyond cash-in/cash-out.
