      • Chandrayaan-3 will be the first spacecraft to land on the South Pole of the Moon.
      • The mission will demonstrate a safe and soft landing on Lunar Surface and Rover roving on the Moon. There is no orbiter element in the mission.

  1. Odisha Government has launched ‘Mo Jungle Jami Yojana’ (My Forestland Scheme) for the forest dwellers.
      • The scheme intends to complete recognition of all rights under the Scheduled Tribes and Other Traditional Forest Dwellers (Recognition of Forest Rights Act), 2006 in the next two years.
      • Forest Rights Cells will be constituted at the tahsil and district level to assist in the effective implementation of FRA, 2006.
      • Odisha is ranked third in terms of tribal population and has 62 types of tribes including 13 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).

  2. Jammu and Kashmir has launched India’s first Tele-MANAS chatbot to ensure the availability of health counsellors, clinical psychologists and consultants round-the-clock.
      • ‘J&K Health Conclave’ on Mental Health and Non-Communicable Diseases was inaugurated at Srinagar by J&K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
      • J-K Health and Medical Education Department has also signed memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital and Research Centre and National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru.

• About Tele- MANAS
o National Tele Mental Health Programme of India, Tele Mental Health Assistance and Networking Across States (Tele-MANAS) was announced in Budget 2022.
o Tele-MANAS is a two-tier system.
 Tier 1 comprises State Tele MANAS cells, which includes trained counsellors and mental health specialists.
 Tier 2 comprises specialists at District Mental Health Programme (DMHP)/Medical College resources for physical consultation and/or e-Sanjeevani for audio visual consultation.

      • A helpline has been launched for women travelling alone at night between 10 pm and 6 am.

  2. Tamil Nadu government has issued the operational guidelines for ‘Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai’ scheme
      • Features of the scheme-
        • Eligibility- Women who have completed 21 years of age with an annual family income of less than ₹2.5 lakh; family land holding not exceeding 5 acres (wetland) and 10 acres (dryland); and annual household electricity consumption below 3,600 units.
        • Launch date- September 15, 2023
        • Financial Assistance- Rs. 1000/month

      • The exercise is being held since 2005.

      • The exercise aims at enhancing interoperability, cohesiveness and gaining from best practices mutually.

  1. Europe’s Ariane- 5 rocket has launched 2 satellites in its final mission (117th mission) from French Guiana.
      • France’s Syracuse 4B and Germany’s Heinrich Hertz (H2Sat) satellites have been launched to the geostationary orbit.
      • Ariane-5 is a 53-metre-tall, three-stage launcher which was first launched in 1996.
      • Ariane-6, the successor of Arian-5, which will be operational from 2024.
      • Other satellite launches by Ariane-5-
        • James Webb Telescope in 2021, in partnership with NASA and the Canadian Space Agency
        • Europe’s comet-chasing Rosetta mission in 2014.

      • The maximum amount of loan will be ₹5 lakhs with flexible repayment cycles ranging from 6 to 36 months.
      • This facility will empower customers with increased purchasing power and improve accessibility and affordability.

  2. Union Finance Minister has chaired a meeting to review performance of Public Sector Banks (PSB).
      • Findings –
        • Performance of PSBs- All the major financial parameters such as, credit deployment, profitability, asset quality, capital adequacy etc. have improved.
        • Asset quality of PSBs has improved significantly. During FY 2022-23, PSBs earned a record aggregate net profit of around ₹1.05 lakh crore.
        • Overall Priority Sector Lending (PSL) have exceeded the mandated target.
      • Union Finance Minister will also chair review meetings on functioning of the Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) in different parts of country in July-August 2023, starting from Tripura on 21st July.

  3. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has cancelled the banking licenses of two co-operative banks namely, Malkapur Urban Co-operative Bank Ltd, Buldana (Maharashtra) and Shushruti Souharda Sahakara Bank Niyamita, Bengaluru.
      • The banks did not have adequate capital and earning prospects.
      • Every depositor would be entitled to receive deposit insurance claim amount of his/her deposits up to Rs 5 lakh from the Deposit Insurance and Credit Guarantee Corporation (DICGC) on liquidation of banks.
