   • Eligibility criteria for an institute to apply for the status –
   • NAAC ‘A’ grade with at least a 3.01 CGPA for three consecutive cycles or NBA accreditation for 2/3rd of eligible programmes for three consecutive cycles or in the top 50 of any specific categories of NIRF for the last three years continuously or in top 100 of overall NIRF Ranking for last three years continuously
   • Faculty Strength – 150
   • Corpus fund for private institutions – increased from Rs 10 crore to Rs 25 crore

2. Ministry of Jal Shakti has signed an MoU with Malviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT), Jaipur to set up National Centre for Dam Safety from Earthquake at a cost of Rs 30 crore.
   • The new centre will handle technology development related to structural and earthquake safety of all dams in the country.

3. The govt has changed the name of the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Cancer, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Diseases and Stroke (NPCDCS) as the National Programme for Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases (NP-NCD).
   • Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are responsible for maximum out-of-pocket expenditure on health, and economic output lost due to them, excluding mental conditions, is estimated to be USD 3.55 trillion for the country for 2012-2030.

4. Union Health Ministry launched “75/25” initiative which aims to put 75 million people with hypertension and diabetes on Standard Care by 2025, through the Primary Healthcare Center (PHC).
   • The initative was announced on the World Hypertension Day (May 17). Theme of the day was ‘Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer’.
   • This was announced at the G20 co-branded event “Accelerating the Prevention and Management of Hypertension and Diabetes”, organized by Union Health Ministry and WHO.
   • In addition to the 75/25 initiative, the Shashakt Portal was launched for training of 40,000 Primary Health Care Medical Officers on Standard Treatment Workflow for NCDs initiated to realize health care services closer to the community.

5. Department of Pharmaceuticals organized the “Global Vaccine Research Collaborative” discussion, which was focused on Vaccine Research and Development: Building Consensus for Future Health Emergencies Prevention, Preparedness, and Response.
   • The discussion was organized on the sidelines of the 3rd G20 Health Working Group Meeting, in Hyderabad.

1. Directorate General of Training (DGT), Ministry of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), have signed an MOU to train 6000 students and 200 educators at government-led Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and National Skills Training Institutions (NSTIs) in cybersecurity skills.
   • This training is being conducted under the Cyber Shikshaa programme which focuses on imparting basic and intermediate cybersecurity skills training.

   • It is the first public sector bank to launch this service.
   • Bank of Baroda customers as well as customers of other banks that use BHIM UPI, bob World UPI or any other UPI application enabled for ICCW on their mobile phone can withdraw cash from a Bank of Baroda ATM without using their debit card.

   • The Central government must frame the following three schemes namely the Employees’ Provident Fund Scheme, Employees’ Pension Scheme and Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme by June 23, 2023.
