  1. Department of Telecommunications has formed a Technology Innovation Group on 6G, headed by K Rajaraman (Telecom Secretary), for researching on developing 6G technology.
      • The group has 22 members.
  2. At a Commerce Secretary-Level Meeting held between India and Bhutan on trade and transit issues, both countries have signed Letters of Exchange to implement seven additional entry and exit points for trade to increase trade connectivity.
      • These include Nagarkata Land Customs Station without commodity restriction; Agartala Land Customs Station; Pandu port (Guwahati Steamerghat), subject to cross border control at Dhubri; Jogighopa port subject to cross border control at Dhubri.
      • Trade between India and Bhutan has more than doubled from USD 484 million in 2014-15 to USD 1,083 million in 2020-21.
  3. During the Ganga festival, IIT-Kanpur launched the Ganga Atlas.
  4. India hosted the “Security Dialogue on Afghanistan” in New Delhi. The Dialogue was chaired by NSA Ajit Doval.
      • The meeting was attended by the NSA’s counterparts from five Central Asian countries — Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan — along with Russia and Iran.
      • So far, India has made contributions of around $3 billion to Afghan redevelopment.
  5. Ministry of Law and Justice has released the draft of Mediation Bill that aims to strengthen the ecosystem of mediation for dispute resolution in India.
      • The bill seeks to establish a Mediation Council of India.
      • The registration of Mediation Settlement Agreement has also been provided for with State/District/Taluk Legal Authorities within 90 days to ensure maintenance of authenticated records of the settlement so arrived.
  6. India and France will host their annual India-France Strategic Dialogue, co-chaired by NSA Ajit Doval and French President’s Diplomatic Adviser Emmanuel Bonne in Paris.
  7. MoS for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Shri V. Muraleedharan visited Senegal to co-chair the Third India-Senegal Joint Commission Meeting (JCM) in Dakar.
      • Two MoUs were signed during the visit namely
        • MoU for cooperation in the field of Health and Medicine and
        • MoU for training of Senegalese diplomats.
      • Muraleedharan visited the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Technology (CEDT) in Dakar, built with Indian grant assistance.
      • Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi and Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh are also the MOS for External Affairs.

  1. National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), Anand has signed an MoU with Uttar Pradesh government to manage the Varanasi Milk Union for a period of five years.
      • Under Rashtriya Gokul Mission, inducted Gir cows will be used to increase productivity through IVF technology and soon Varanasi Milk Union plant will be able to process 2 lakh litres of milk.
      • Varanasi Milk Union will be India’s first Milk Union to have biogas-based tri generation plant installed.
  2. Karnataka government has launched the ‘Janasevaka’ (peoples’ servant), an online portal, and ‘Janaspandana’, an Integrated Public Grievance Redressal System (IPGRS).
      • ‘Janasevaka’ – to provide govt services at the doorstep of the state citizens.
      • ‘Janaspandana’ – it will enable citizens to raise complaints against govt services / schemes.
  3. Bestu Varas is the New Year of Gujarati.
  4. Tamil Nadu government has set up first ever Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) – Tamil Nadu Green Climate Company.
      • The Company will manage three critical natural conservation missions – Tamil Nadu Climate Change, Tamil Nadu Green and Tamil Nadu Wetlands.
      • The SPV’s authorised capital will be ₹5 crore.
      • The State Environment Secretary (incumbent: Supriya Sahu) will be the company’s Chairperson and MD.
  5. Assam Cabinet has approved the Industrial Relation Rules, 2021 for safeguarding the rights of employers and employees.
      • The Assam Migrant Workers’ Food Security Scheme was also approved by the state cabinet to provide relief in the form of dry ration to migrants.
      • Under this scheme, data of migrant workers available on e-SHRAM portal and other resources will be used to distribute ration to them.
  6. Meghalaya Cabinet has decided to upgrade the Mairang civil sub-division to a full-fledged district. It will be called Eastern West Khasi Hills district.
      • With this, now there are 12 districts in Meghalaya.
  7. Haryana State Employment of local candidates Act 2020 will come into effect from January 15, 2022.
      • The law preserves 75% of private sector jobs with a monthly pay of up to Rs 30,000 for locals.

  1. DRDO and the Indian Air Force have jointly conducted two flight tests of an indigenously developed smart anti-airfield weapon (SAAW) from Chandan ranges at Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
      • SAAW has been designed and developed by Research Centre Imarat, Hyderabad.
  2. 3rd edition of Goa Maritime Conclave (GMC) – 2021 was hosted by the Indian Navy under the aegis of Naval War College, Goa.
      • Theme – “Maritime Security and Emerging Non-Traditional Threats: A Case for Proactive Role for IOR Navies”
      • Chiefs of Navies/ Heads of Maritime Forces from 12 Indian Ocean Region countries comprising Bangladesh, Comoros, Indonesia, Madagascar, Malaysia, Maldives, Mauritius, Myanmar, Seychelles, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Thailand attended the conclave.

  1. China has launched its Earth Science Satellite named Guangmu (SDGSAT-1) into space on a Long March-6 carrier rocket from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre.
      • It is the world’s first space science satellite dedicated to serving the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

  1. UN Environment Program has launched the ‘Sustainable Urban Cooling Handbook’ at the COP 26 of UNFCCC.
      • As per the report, cities will become too hot to survive. Many cities would warm up to 4º C by 2100, if the global warming is not contained.
      • Depending on the climate zone, the urban heat island effect can raise urban temperatures as much as 5 degrees Celsius, compared with surrounding rural areas.
      • Mr. Alok Sharma was the President of the COP 26.
  2. UNEP has released the 6th “Adaptation Gap Report 2021: The Gathering Storm”.
      • The global temperature reached 1.1º C in 2021, causing devastating climate-related calamities.
      • The cost of adaptation to the climate change ranges from $140 – 300 billion per year in 2030 to $280 – 500 billion per year by 2050 for developing countries.

  1. Bandhan Bank has been empanelled by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to act as an agency bank for conducting transactions related to government businesses.
      • In May 2021, RBI had allowed the private bank to conduct govt business such as tax collection.
  2. RBI has published its ‘Statement of Commitment to Support Greening India’s Financial System’ (NGFS).
      • RBI had joined the Central Banks and Supervisors Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) as a Member in April 2021.
      • NGFS was launched in 2017 at the One Planet Summit in Paris. The basic objective of NGFS is to mobilise funds for climate-resilient projects to achieve the targets of Paris Agreement.
      • As of November 2nd 2021, the NGFS consists of 100 members and 16 observers.
