  1. Ladakh has launched ‘Pani Maah’ to raise awareness about clean water and to accelerate the implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission in the UT.
      • An award of Rs. 5 lakh per village for the first 5 ‘Har Ghar Jal’ villages of each district in UT and Rs. 25 lakh to the first ‘Har Ghar Jal’ block in each district has been announced.
  2. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin has launched ‘Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam’ (healthcare services at people’s doorstep) scheme.
      • The scheme is aimed at eliminating the need for patients to visit hospitals for treating non-communicable diseases.
  3. Bharat Dynamics Limited has signed an MoU with the Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) for setting up a manufacturing unit in the under-construction UP Defence Industrial Corridor.
      • The MoU has been signed for an investment up to Rs 400 crore in the Jhansi node of Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial corridor.
      • BDL is the only Defence Public Sector Company which is manufacturing missiles and underwater weapons for the armed forces.
  4. Kerala government has launched the ‘COVID-19 death information portal’ in the state to maintain a proper record of the number of deaths due to the virus.

  1. National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB), under Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, has signed an MoU with Punjab National Bank to extend financial assistance to the fisheries sector through the Bank.
      • Hyderabad’s zonal office of PNB will be the nodal for all the technically approved proposals received by NFDB across the country.

• PNB@Ease Outlet was also inaugurated at Ameerpet Metro Station in Hyderabad.
• In April 2021, PNB had launched the PNB@Ease digitial initiative under which every transaction undertaken by a bank branch will be initiated and authorised by customers themselves.
• The bank would roll out PNB@Ease across 165 identified locations across India.
• PNB @Ease outlets are loaded with five Kiosks i.e. ATM, Bunch Note Acceptor, Account Opening Kiosk, Card Issuance Kiosk and internet-enabled Kiosk.

  1. Bangladesh and Canada have joined the Coalition for Disaster Resilience Infrastructure (CDRI).
      • Now, there are 25 members of CDRI.
      • The International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI 2021) is an interactive virtual conference that took place from 17-19 March, 2021.
      • The ICDRI is an annual international conference of the CDRI, which is held in partnership with member countries, organizations and institutions to strengthen the global discourse on disaster and climate resilient infrastructure.
  2. G20 Digital MinistersMeeting took place in Trieste, Italy.
      • Minister of Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, attended it.
      • The G20 digital ministers meeting adopted a declaration for ‘Leveraging Digitalization for a Resilient, Strong, Sustainable and Inclusive Recovery’.
