  1. Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) will set up Asia’s largest bio-gas plant in Mumbai to scientifically treat the segregated wet-waste of the city into compressed biogas (CBG).
      • The BMC will set up this plant jointly with Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL), which is a Public Sector Undertaking of the Gas Authority of India Limited (GAIL).
      • The plant will have a capacity to treat 1,000 tonnes of wet waste daily, making it Asia’s largest bio-gas plant.

  2. Uttar Pradesh has launched the “School Health Program” for preparing the digital health report card for children – the first in India.
      • Under the pilot project, the School Health Program has been started by Lucknow Smart City in three schools in Lucknow.
      • The digital health report card for the overall physical and mental well-being of 1765 municipal school students is also being prepared under the project.
      • Along with this, the benefit of health insurance worth Rs 25,000 is also being given to these children.
      • The digital health report card is being prepared based on 130 parameters.

      • With these three new additions, now there are 26 wildlife conservation reserves in Rajasthan.

      • European firm Airbus Defence and Space has developed the aircraft.

• In 2021, India signed a ₹21,935-crore contract with Airbus Defence and Space for jointly manufacturing 56 C295 planes.
• Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Airbus Defence and Space are jointly manufacturing the aircrafts.
• With this, the Indian Air Force is set to become the largest operator of the C295 in the world.
• As part of the contract, 16 C295 aircrafts will be delivered by Airbus in flyaway condition from Spain, and the remaining 40 will be manufactured in Vadodara, Gujarat, India.
• The 16 flyaway aircrafts are scheduled to be delivered between September 2023 and August 2025, while the first Made in India C295 will be ready in September 2026 and the remaining 39 by August 2031.
• These aircrafts will replace the Avro-748 aircrafts.
• This is the first time that a military aircraft will be manufactured in India by a private consortium.
• All 56 aircrafts will be fitted with an indigenous electronic warfare suite developed by Bharat Electronics Ltd and Bharat Dynamics Limited.

      • The blend included 17% SAF with 83% conventional jet fuel.
      • Through this, Vistara was able to reduce approximately 10,000 pounds of CO₂ emissions on this flight.
      • Last month, Vistara operated the SAF blended fuel (30:70) on an international flight from USA to India, first time for an Indian airline.
