  1. Union Minister of Civil Aviation, Jyotiraditya Scindia, has launched the “New Helicopter Policy” during the Third Helicopter Summit 2021, organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, FICCI, Uttarakhand govt, and Pawan Hans Ltd in Dehradun.
      • Four dedicated Heli-Hubs will be created at Bengaluru, Mumbai (at Juhu), Guwahati and Delhi.
      • Dedicated helicopter corridors will soon be developed across 10 cities and 82 identified routes.
      • The policy aims to make helicopter penetration a priority in India.
      • As a starting, three dedicated helicopter corridors are being started at Juhu-Pune-Juhu, Mahalakshmi Race Course-Pune-Mahalakshmi Race Course and Gandhinagar-Ahmedabad-Gandhinagar.
      • Under the new policy, the government will be upgrading a centralised “Heli-Seva” portal and all permissions for a helicopter flight will be granted online.

      • Four countries – Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan and Sri Lanka – have not yet joined the agreement.
      • The framework is being developed by OECD.
      • This deal now will be delivered to the G20 Finance Ministers meeting in Washington DC on 13 October, then to the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Rome at the end of the month.

  1. RBI has decided to introduce the Internal Ombudsman Scheme for certain categories of NBFCs having higher customer base to strengthen the internal grievance redress mechanism of NBFCs.
      • The Internal Ombudsman (IO) will be at the top of NBFCs’ internal grievance redress mechanism to examine customer complaints which are in the nature of deficiency in service and are partly or wholly rejected by the NBFCs.
      • In 2013, RBI has mandated NBFCs to appoint Nodal Officers for grievance redressal.
      • In 2018, RBI launched the Ombudsman Scheme for NBFCs.
  2. RBI has increased the limit on Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) to Rs 5 lakh from the current Rs 2 lakh.
      • IMPS which has been developed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) provides 24×7 instant domestic funds transfer facility.
      • The service is accessible through internet banking, mobile banking, bank branches, ATMs, SMS and IVRS.
      • The per-transaction limit for SMS and IVRS channels continues to remain capped at Rs 5000.
