  1. North Eastern Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (NEDFi) has launched the Atmanirbhar Hastshilpkar Scheme for the Artisans.
      • NEDFi, under Ministry of Development of North-East Region, is a premier financial institution in the North-Eastern Region with its head office at Dispur, Guwahati.
      • The scheme aims to develop the petty artisans of the North Eastern Region by providing term loan for setting up / expansion / modernization / working capital requirement and other activities related to the sector.
      • During the launching ceremony, a total of 17 artisans have been provided with credit assistance of Rs.1 lakh per artisan.
      • The credit facility is collateral free and carries a subsidized interest rate of 6% p.a., which is repayable in 24 months.
      • For regular repayment, an incentive of 1% on the interest rate is provided, which will be refunded to the artisans on successful repayment of loans.
  2. NITI Aayog has released a two comprehensive report titled – Reports on current status on Country level- secondary and tertiary level and district level emergency and injury care in India.
      • These studies have assessed the prevailing status of 100 emergency and injury care centres in government and private hospital settings in 28 States and 2 Union Territories of India, in addition to 34 District Hospitals.
  3. NTPC has announced to establish India’s first Green Hydrogen based Energy Storage Project at its Guest House in Simhadri (near Visakhapatnam).
      • A micro-grid which will use green hydrogen will be developed under this project.
  4. NITI Aayog has launched Convoke 2021-22, a national level symposium in partnership with Bharti Foundation.
      • Convoke is a National Research Symposium where school teachers/ heads/principals of government schools and teachers from the Bharti Foundation network will be able to share their research work for addressing challenges in imparting education.
      • Convoke aims at strengthening its quality with special focus on all teachers, educationists, heads of schools across India.
      • Convoke 2021 will be based on a webinar format this year and the theme for the edition is ‘School Leadership for School Excellence’.
  5. India Mobile Congress 2021 has been launched by Department of Telecom and Cellular Operators Association of India.

  1. ISRO and the government of India have signed an MoU with smartphone maker OPPO to strengthen the research as well as the development of the domestic satellite navigation system NavIC messaging service.
      • NavIC system provides regional navigation services covering the Indian mainland and an area up to 1500 km beyond the Indian mainland.
      • The International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has also recognised NavIC as a component of the World-Wide Radio Navigation System (WWRNS).
  2. DRDO has announced that Pinaka Extended Range Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) was successfully tested with rockets, which were built by the private sector.
      • The Pinaka MLRS has been successfully developed by two DRDO laboratories in Pune – Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE) and High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) – in partnership with L&T and Tata Power Company Ltd.

  1. India has assumed the Chairmanship of Council of Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of SCO (RATS SCO) from October 2021 for a period of one year.
      • The National Security Council Secretariat, in association with Data Security Council of India, as a Knowledge Partner, organized a two-day Seminar on “Securing Cyberspace in the Contemporary Threat Environment” for delegates from SCO Member States.
      • Council of Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure of SCO is an organ of SCO.
  2. United Nations General Assembly has granted Observer Status to the International Solar Alliance (ISA).
      • India’s Permanent Ambassador to the UN is T S Tirumurti.
      • A total of 80 countries have signed and ratified the ISA Framework Agreement and 101 countries have only signed the agreement.
  3. Hong Kong has implemented the ‘Zero Covid Policy’.
      • The focus of Hong Kong is on African countries as well as United States of America. Travellers from these regions will have to go under strict quarantine.

  4. RBI has made Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) mandatory for cross-border transactions for capital or current account transactions of Rs 50 crore and above, from October 1, 2022.
      • LEI is a 20-digit number used to uniquely identify parties to financial transactions worldwide to improve the quality and accuracy of financial data systems.
      • The LEI numbers are maintained in a global LEI database available on the website of the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF).
      • LEI has been introduced by the RBI in a phased manner for over the counter (OTC) derivative, non-derivative markets, large corporate borrowers and large value transactions in centralised payment systems.
  5. Star Health and Allied Insurance Company has issued initial public offering (IPO) of Rs 7,250 crore – the third largest this year and eighth largest ever.
      • The equity shares were listed at Rs 845 after a 6% discount to Rs 900 per share.
