      • Objective
        • To boost the economy and trade, make rivers and other inland water routes usable as channels.
      • Key points
        • Of this ₹45,000 crore, an estimated ₹35,000 crore has been earmarked for cruise vessels and another ₹10,000 crore for development of cruise terminal infrastructure.
        • Union Minister has also launched ‘Harit Nauka’ guidelines for Green Transition of Inland Vessels and ‘River Cruise Tourism Roadmap, 2047’ at the inaugural session of IWDC.

  1. West Bengal government has launched ‘Yogyasree’ scheme for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes students.
      • Details of Yogyasree Scheme-
        • It is a new welfare scheme for students aimed at providing training for various entrance and competitive exams.
        • 50 centres will be opened across the state where SC and ST students will be able to take training completely free of cost for competitive examinations.
        • Similar 46 centres will offer free training to SC and ST students aspiring for government jobs, civil services etc.
        • Other initiative-
          • An internship program for students has also been launched to provide internship to 2500 students.
