      • An expo of the Defence Industry Collaboration Forum (DICF) was organised virtually.
      • India and US have signed an agreement for developing an air-launched unmanned aerial vehicle under the joint working group on air systems as part of the framework on DTTI.
      • Four joint working groups focused on land, naval, air and aircraft carrier technologies have been established under DTTI to promote mutually agreed projects within their domains.

      • Top police station- Bhattu Kalan police station of Fatehabad district, Haryana; and Gangapur police station in Odisha.
  3. India’s first centre for excellence in research on drone and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology and artificial intelligence, along with a skill development centre for drone operation and maintenance, has been launched at the IIT Guwahati.
  4. Central govt has announced to conduct the National Achievement Survey, 2021 for the students of class 3, 5, 8, and 10 to assess their competencies.
      • Last time, the survey was conducted in 2017.
  5. The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has commenced the Shri Ramayana Yatra special trains from November 7, 2021, from Delhi to several religious cities.
      • The train is set to hit all the major cities and towns that are associated with the life of Lord Rama and the Sanskrit epic Ramayana.

      • Both parties agreed to host the next India-GCC Troika Political Dialogue soon. The last round of the dialogue was held in 2020.
      • The Sec-Gen also hold discussions with Minister of Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal.

  1. Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Pallike (BBMP) has collaborated with European Union for developing low-carbon municipal solid waste management system in Bengaluru.
      • This project is funded by EU and German’s Ministry of Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety.

  1. Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has increased the price of ethanol extracted from sugar (for blending in petrol) to ₹63.45 a litre from the coming sugar marketing season.
      • Ethanol blending with petrol is expected to reach 10% by 2022 and 20% by 2025.
      • Impact – Oil marketing companies buy ethanol from sugar mills and distilleries at the rate set by the government. Thus, it will reduce the losses of sugar mills and encourage them to produce more ethanol.
  2. Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved to provide ₹17,408.85 crore support to the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) as reimbursement for its losses in procuring crops from farmers at minimum support prices over the last seven years.
  3. Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved reservation norms for mandatory use of jute in packaging for the Jute Year 2021 -22 (1st July, 2021 to 30th June, 2022) under the Jute Packaging Material (JPM) Act, 1987.
      • 100% food grains and 20% sugar should be compulsorily packed in jute bags.
      • Major jute producing states – West Bengal, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
      • It is one of the major industries in the eastern region, particularly in West Bengal.
      • 75% of the total production of the Jute Industry is Jute Sacking Bags. 90% of it is supplied to Food Corporation of India and State Procurement Agencies.

  1. Two aerobatic teams from the Indian Air Force (IAF) will participate in the Dubai Air Show 2021 from November 14-18 at Dubai World Central, Al Maktoum International Airport.
      • ‘Sarang’ and ‘Suryakiran’ aerobatics teams will participate in the show. IAF’s light combat aircraft (LCA) Tejas will be used along with other aircraft.
      • Sarang has previously participated in the Al Ain Grand Prix in UAE in 2005.
      • Surya Kiran is the first aerobatic team of the Indian Air Force, formed in 1982.

  1. Indian Army has signed an MoU with Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Gandhinagar to synergise innovations, research, technology incubation, joint projects, publication & patents, training, higher learning and distance education in the Army.
      • Indian Army has also signed an MoU with the Bhaskaracharya National Institute for Space Applications and Geo-Informatics (BISAG-N), Gandhinagar, Gujarat for conducting research in emerging technologies.
      • ‘Chanakya’ is the biannual publication of RRU.
  2. India’s DRDO and Israel’s Directorate of Defence Research and Development have signed an MoU for the development of dual use technologies in the defence sector.
      • Purpose – to promote innovation and research and development in start-ups and MSMEs of both countries for the advancement of dual use technologies.
      • “Dual-use” refers to technology that can be used for both peaceful and military aims.
