  1. India’s first indigenously designed high ash coal gasification based methanol production plant has been set up at the R&D Centre of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited in Hyderabad.
      • Majority of the coal is derived from natural gas worldwide. Since, India doesn’t have natural gas in abundance, therefore, it has to rely on imports.
      • In order to cut imports, this plant will use coal for producing methanol.
  2. Ministry of Commerce and Industry has revised the Transport and Marketing Assistance (TMA) scheme for specified agriculture products.
      • The scheme was launched in 2019.
      • Now, it will be effected on or after 1st April, 2021, up to 31st March, 2022.
      • Also, the dairy products will be covered in the scheme.
      • Rates of assistance under the scheme have been increased by 50% for exports by sea and 100% for exports by air.
  3. India and the US have jointly launched the Climate Action and Finance Mobilization Dialogue (CAFMD) of the Agenda 2030 Partnership.
      • The dialogue will provide an opportunity to both countries to renew collaborations on climate change.
      • The forum will also help in mobilising the financing for climate action projects.
  4. As part of the Food Processing Week, the Union Minister of State for Food Processing Industries, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel, inaugurated the Food Processing Unit of M/s Sahara Frozen Foods established in Morena, Madhya Pradesh.
      • The unit is under the Cold Chain scheme of Central sector scheme – Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana.
      • Almost 50% of the cost of the Sahara Frozen Foods unit has been contributed by the Ministry as a grant.

  1. Rajasthan government will soon set up a Vedic Education and Sanskar Board to revive the knowledge of Sanskrit scriptures and Vedas.
      • The announcement was made in 2019.
  2. National Hydro Power Corporation (NHPC) Limited signed an MoU with Bihar State Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (BSHPC) for developing the Dagmara Hydro-Electric Project, Supaul, Bihar.
      • The project is being developed on Kosi river.

      • To implement the mission, the state government has signed an MoU with the Indian Institute of Millet Research (IIMR), Hyderabad and collectors of 14 districts.
  5. Haryana has become the first state in India for installing off-grid solar pumps under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthan Mahaabhiyaan (PM-KUSUM).
      • The state undertook the installation of 14,418 pumps against 15,000 sanctioned pumps for the year 2020-21.
