            • It is a program for financial support to irrigation projects.
            • Irrigation area targeted during 2021-26 – 13.88 Lakh hectare

            • Target of Irrigation – 1.52 Lakh Hectare.
          • Watershed Development
            • Focuses on development of rainfed areas towards soil and water conservation, regeneration of ground water.
    4. Union Cabinet has approved the Treaty on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters between India and Poland to enhance capability and effectiveness of both countries.
        • The MoU seeks to boost investigation and prosecution of crimes, including crimes related to terrorism through mutual legal assistance.
    5. India hosted the 8th edition of the Indian Ocean Dialogue under the theme ‘Post Pandemic Indian Ocean: Leveraging Digital Technologies for Health, Education, Development and Trade in IORA Member States’.
        • The Indian Ocean Dialogue was organized with the help of Indian Council for World Affairs and the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Secretariat.
        • The last edition of the Indian Ocean Dialogue was hosted by UAE.
        • Indian Ocean Dialogue is a Track 1.5 Dialogue.

        • All these are types of diplomatic meetings conducted by govts and non-govt officials.

  1. Union Cabinet has approved an Incentive Scheme to Promote RupayDebit Cards and low value BHIM UPI transactions in the country.
      • It will help in in making accessible digital modes of payments to unbanked and marginalized populations.
      • Under the scheme, the acquiring banks will be incentivized by the Government.
      • The incentives will be in the form of percentage of value of transactions done through RuPay debit cards and low value (up to Rs. 2000) BHIM UPI mode of payments.
      • Financial outlay – Rs.1300 Crore for a period of one-year w.e.f. 1st April 2021.

  1. Rajasthan govt has signed an MoU with the Haryana-based Rays Power Infra to build a 500 MW solar park.
      • The MoU aims at constructing an avant-garde Photovoltaic Power Station (commonly referred to as solar power plant).
  2. Andhra Pradesh government has signed an MoU with Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) on Technical Cooperation Project for strengthening capacities to support farmers to adopt sustainable agri-food systems.
      • The state govt has already established the Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs) to remove fake seeds, pesticides and fertilisers from markets.
  3. Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a loan of USD 112 million to Assam for establishing a skill university at Mangaldoi.
      • The skill university is a part of the Assam Skill Development Mission.
  4. WhatsApp has launched its pilot program of adopting 500 villages across Karnataka and Maharashtra for empowering villagers with access to digital payments through ‘payments on WhatsApp’.
      • The announcement was made at Fuel For India 2021— Meta’s (Facebook) annual event in India.

      • Theme of the exercise – Camaraderie, Cohesion And Collaboration
      • The official website of Milan-2022 has also been launched.
      • Initiated in 1995, Exercise Milan is a biennial multinational naval exercise, conducted by India. Earlier, it was being held at Port Blair but this time it has been shifted to Visakhapatnam.

      • Parker Solar Probe was launched in 2018 to explore the mysteries of the Sun by traveling closer to it than any spacecraft before.

      • The scheme covers faceless information collection from assesses and its verification.
      • The e-verification will cover information which is either in possession of designated tax officials or which is handed down to them by other official arms including the Director General of Income-tax (Intelligence and Criminal Investigation).
  8. RBI has permitted Indians as well as Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) cardholders going on pilgrimage to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur, Pakistan through the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor to carry up to Rs 11,000 in rupees or US dollars.
      • The Foreign Exchange Management (Export and Import of Currency) Regulations, 2015, allow Indian residents to carry Indian denominated currency notes of up to Rs 25,000 to Nepal and Bhutan.
      • The same limit applies for bringing in the currency.
  9. State Bank of India has renewed its MoU with the Indian Army to offer specially crafted benefits to all serving and retired Army personnel and their families through its Defence Salary Package (DSP) Scheme.
      • Under the MoU, the bank offers complimentary personal and air accidental insurance (death) covers, additional cover in case of on-duty death, permanent total disability / partial disability covers.
