  1. Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has launched the Unified Logistics Interface Platform’s (ULIP) Hackathon‘LogiXtics’ – to invite more innovative solutions for the logistics industry.
      • The ULIP Hackathon – LogiXtics is organised by NITI Aayog and Atal Innovation Mission and supported by National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) and NICDC Logistics Data Bank Services Limited (NLDSL).
      • Purpose of ULIP Hackathon – to create a transparent platform for transmission of logistics related information in real-time for all stakeholders and to reduce logistics cost.
      • Presently, the cost of logistics in India is about 14% of the GDP, which is the highest in the world.
  2. Union Cabinet has approved the bill to increase the marriage age for girls to 21 years.
      • The bill seeks to amend the Prohibition of Child Marriage (Amendment) Bill 2021.
      • The bill incorporates many recommendations of the Jaya Jaitley Task Force, which was formed in 2020 by Ministry of Women and Child Development for this issue.
  3. The contract to build India’s longest expressway project i.e., the Ganga Expressway Project worth 17,000-crore has been awarded to Adani Group.
      • The Meerut-Prayagraj expressway project is 594-km-long.

  4. Supreme Court Bench, headed by AM Khanwilkar, has mandated Madhya Pradesh govt to conduct municipal polls in urban and rural areas without OBC reservations.
      • Similar order was also passed for Maharashtra.
      • The order avers to denotify all such reserved seats in municipal elections in both the rural and urban areas and treat them as general category seats.
  5. 3rd meeting of the India-Central Asia Dialogue was held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of the External Affairs Minister of India, S Jaishankar.
      • Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Republic of Uzbekistan took part in the meeting.
      • The 1st edition of the dialogue was established in 2019.
  6. India- Central Asia Relations:

      • 2022 is the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Central Asian States.
      • Last year, a line of credit of $1 billion was announced to develop infrastructure development projects in Central Asian countries.
      • Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme for capacity building and human resource development of the Central Asian countries, especially in Information Technology and Communication Skills in the English language, was also appreciated.

      • Dushanbe, Tajikistan will host the 2nd High-Level International Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 in June 2022.
      • The participants of the Dushanbe Conference will prepare for the UN Conference on the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the Implementation of the Objectives of the Water Decade in New York in 2023.
      • The participants also expressed support for the proposal to declare 2025 as the International Year of Glacier Conservation and the creation of the international foundation for the protection of glaciers.

      • The songs was launched during the Vijay Shrankhla aur Sanskrityon ka Mahasangam campaign in New Delhi.
      • The mega event was organized by NCC as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to commemorate 75 years of India’s Independence.

      • The lab will focus on dangerous viruses, its effect on humans and come up with safeguards and develop equipment to fight them.

  10. Parliament has passed the Surrogacy (Regulation) Bill, 2019 which allows only ethical altruistic surrogacy to the intending infertile Indian married couple between the age of 23-50 years and 26-55 years for female and male, respectively.
      • Only Indian couples who have been legally married for at least five years would be allowed to opt for surrogacy.
  11. India has launched the ‘Technology-based Energy Solutions: Innovations for Net Zero’, in partnership with US to accelerate India’s transition to clean and renewable energy to achieve the net zero target by 2070.
      • The initiative aims at the development and implementation of next-generation clean and renewable energy, energy storage, and carbon sequestration to tackle climate and clean energy challenges.
      • The funding for this initiative is given by United States-India Science & Technology Endowment Fund (USISTEF), in partnership with Social Alpha (an NPO promoting S&T entrepreneurship).
      • The new program aligns with the goals of the S.-India Strategic Clean Energy Partnership and will be administered by the bi-national Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF).

  1. Tata Motors has signed an MoU with Maharashtra govt to establish a vehicle scrapping facility of 35000 vehicles a year.

      • The scheme promotes sports nurseries that will be started in government, private educational institutions and private sports institutions.

      • The six nuclear power reactors, which will have a capacity of 1,650 MW each.
      • It will be set up with technical cooperation from
      • Jaitapur will become India’s largest nuclear power generating site with a total capacity of 9,900 MW.
      • Present installed nuclear power capacity of India is 6,780 MW and the share of nuclear power in the total electricity generation in 2020-21 is about 1%.
      • Target – to increase India’s installed nuclear power capacity to 22,480 MW by 2031.
  5. Recently, an American barn owl was rescued by Forest Department officials in Bihar’s Supaul.
      • Barn owls are native to North and South America.
      • Some sub-species are found in England and other parts of Europe.
      • Earlier this year, a rare duck – Mandarin duck – made an appearance in Assam after nearly 120 years.
      • Mandarin duck (Aix galericulata), often described as ‘the most beautiful duck in the world’, can still be found in China, Japan, Korea and even parts of Russia.
  6. India and the Germany Development BankKfW have signed a 26 million euros loan pact for Surat Metro Rail project.
      • The total cost of the project is 1.5 billion euros, of which KfW is financing 442.26 million euros.
      • The project is being co-financed by AFD (French Development Agency) up to 250 million euros.
  7. Assam government has signed a loan agreement with Asian Development Bank for setting up Assam Skill University at Mangaldoi.
      • The total project is worth $140 million, including the state share of 20%.
      • An additional grant of $1 million is also provided as technical assistance by the ADB.
      • The university campus is expected to be completed by 2027.

      • The order was placed by DRDO-Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE).
      • In October 2021, the DRDO-ADE had successfully tested the ABHYAS.
      • ABHYAS is designed and developed by DRDO’s Aeronautical Development Establishment in Bengaluru.
  2. DRDO has successfully tested the new generation nuclear capable ballistic missile ‘Agni P’ from Dr APJ Abdul Kalam island off the coast of Odisha.
      • The Agni P is a two-stage canisterised solid propellant ballistic missile with dual redundant navigation and guidance system.
      • Agni-P has a range of up to 2000 km.

  1. Innoterra (a Swiss-Indian food and tech platform company) and NABFOUNDATION have signed an MoU to develop farmer clusters through products and services of Innoterra platform.
      • The Innoterra platform will provide hi-tech and high-touch Farmer-360 services to smallholder farmers of more than 5000 FPOs.
      • This will increase farmers’ incomes by 60-100% over 3 to 5 years.
      • NABFOUNDATION is a wholly owned subsidiary of NABARD.
  2. India and Vietnam have signed the Letter of Intent (LoI) for enhancing cooperation in the postal sector.
      • The LoI aims to achieve the joint objectives of both the nations to facilitate cooperation in the field of posts and telecom, promote sharing of information and experience, cooperate to implement projects in HR development and promote enhanced cooperation of postal designated operators and service providers.
      • India and Vietnam have also signed an MoU for cooperation in the field of marine science and ecology.
  3. National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has signed an MoU with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) to reuse plastic waste, collected by the cadets during its latest campaign, for construction of roads across the country.
      • NCC started a month-long Puneet Sagar Abhiyan on December 1 to clean the beaches.
      • IIT-Kharagpur has already agreed to extend technical expertise to NCC for utilisation of collected plastic waste.
      • NCC has also partnered with Odisha Yuva Chetana Sangathhan for using plastic waste effectively.
  4. Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, IIT Madras and MapmyIndia have signed an agreement for collaboration in driver and road safety technologies space to reduce road accidents.
      • All the parties jointly launched free-to-use-navigation app service for people.
      • By using this navigation app, users will get voice and visual alerts about upcoming accident-prone zones, speed breakers, sharp curves, potholes etc, to ensure they can drive carefully and avoid accidents.
      • MapmyIndia had won the government of India’s Aatmanirbhar App Innovation Challenge in 2020.
