  1. India renewed the Cultural Exchange Programme (CEP) with Mongolia till 2023.
      • The CEP was established in 2015.
      • 10 dedicated ICCR scholarships for studying ‘Tibetan Buddhism’ have been allocated for Mongolians to study in specialized institutes of Central Institute for Buddhist Studies (Leh) and Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies (Varanasi), starting from 2020-2021.
      • The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) is an autonomous organisation responsible for maintaining India’s cultural exchange with other countries and their peoples.
      • Ministry of Culture is likely to complete reprinting of about 100 sets of sacred Mongolian Kanjur by 2022 for distribution in the main centers of Buddhism in Mongolia.

      • Pune, Maharashtra is the healthiest city among the top 8 urban cities in the country. Ahmedabad and Bengaluru follow Pune at 2nd and 3rd rank.
      • Delhi NCR was ranked at the last 8th position.
      • India has the lowest number of doctors (0.9 per 1,000 population) compared to other major economies where the doctor to population ratio ranges between 2–4 doctors per 1,000 population.

Agriculture and Rural Development

  1. Mahratta Chamber of Commerce Industries and Agriculture (MCCIA), in association with NABARD, has launched India’s first Agriculture Export Facilitation Centre (AEFC) in Pune.
      • The centre aims to boost Maharashtra’s agricultural and food exports by providing information, guidance, and training to the stakeholders.
      • It will support capacity building by providing expert guidance on a range of topics like Orchard Management, Minimum Residue Level (MRL), Branding and Marketing, Packhouse & Special Export Treatments, Country-wise Protocols and Quality Parameters, Advance Export Certifications, Government Export Schemes and others.
      • India ranks 13th in terms of agriculture export.

  1. Jana Small Finance Bank has launched “I choose my number” feature for all its customers across India.
      • This new feature gives the bank’s existing and new customers the option to select their favourite numbers as their savings or current account number.
