  1. Telecom Secretary and Digital Communication Commission (DCC) Chairman Rajaraman has launched a Public Procurement Policy (Make in India) portal for telecom products.
      • On this portal, the manufacturers, vendors and other stakeholders can register their grievances and track the status of their complaints.
  2. Minister of State for External and Parliamentary Affairs, V. Muraleedharan, paid official visit to Uganda and Rwanda.
      • In Uganda, he inaugurated the Learning Centre under e-Vidya Bharati and e-Arogya Bharati (e-VBAB) initiative at the Makerere University in Kampala.
      • In Rwanda, he co-chaired first ever India-Rwanda Joint Commission Meeting in Kigali.
      • He also inaugurated India-Rwanda Entrepreneurship Development Centre, built with Indian assistance, in Kigali.

      • Road Connectivity Project for Left Wing Extremism Affected Areas has also been extended up to March 2023.
      • Reason for extension – For completion of pending projects under the scheme.
  2. Union Cabinet has cleared utilisation of the Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) for provision of mobile connectivity in 7,287 uncovered villages across five states at an estimated cost of Rs 6,466 crore.
      • These uncovered villages of 44 aspirational districts across five states of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Maharashtra and Odisha will get 4G-based mobile services.

  1. Madhya Pradesh has approved the Mukhya Mantri Udyam Kranti Yojana for self-employment of those who have passed the higher secondary stage and are in the 18-40 age group.
      • This scheme will provide loans to youth for starting their own enterprise.
  2. Nagaland state has signed MoU with Department of Posts for delivery of Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPICs).
  3. Central govt has approved to set up a Rajya Sainik Board for welfare and resettlement of 60,000 ex-servicemen, war widows, widows, serving personnel, including their dependents in the Union Territory.
      • The board is the apex body under which Zila Sainik Welfare Offices, Leh and Kargil will function on all matters related to the welfare and resettlement of ex-servicemen.
      • The board will be an effective link between the Centre and the UT administration for implementing various policies for Sainik welfare.
      • The Rajya Sainik Board is under the Ministry of Defence.
  4. ‘Kashi Utsav’ (a 3-day festival) is being organised by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) at the Rudraksh International Cooperation and Convention Centre, Varanasi.

  1. India’s First Fisheries Business Incubation Centre has been set up in Gurugram, Haryana.
      • It is a first-of-its-kind, a dedicated business incubator to be known as LINAC- NCDC Fisheries Business Incubation Centre (LlFlC).
      • The Centre will help in achieving the goals under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).
      • Function – the incubation unit will provide handholding such as training, converting entrepreneurial ideas into business models and doling out seed money to the new as well as existing business entrepreneurs keen to make big in the segment.
      • National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) is an implementing agency for the
      • NCDC has identified the first batch of ten incubates from 4 statesBihar, Himachal Pradesh, Gujarat, and Maharashtra.
      • Out of them, 6 are from newly-created Fish Farmers Producer Organizations with the support of the financial grant under the PMMSY.
      • Targets – Fisheries are growing at 7% rate The govt has set a goal of 22 million tonnes of fish production and export to the tune of Rs 1 lakh crore by 2025. At present, fish production is 130 lakh tonnes and export worth Rs 46,000 crores.

  1. Indian Army and Indian Air Force conducted a joint exercise named Operation Hercules to assess their logistics supply chain.
      • This exercise was held at a time when the Indian armed forces are preparing for another winter of enhanced deployment of over 50,000 troops in Ladakh amid continuing tensions with China.

  1. Trade Promotion Council of India (TPCI) has signed an MoU with the Department of Economy and Business Development of the Government of Navarra, Spain.
      • Purpose – to strengthen trade ties as India is one of the top priority international markets for Navarra.

  2. 21st Annual Council of Ministers meeting of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) was held in a hybrid format in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
      • India has participated in the meeting with Minister of State External Affairs (MoS), Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh leading the delegation.
      • Bangladesh has assumed the chairmanship of IORA for 2021-23.
      • Russia is the new Dialogue Partner of IORA.
      • Salman Al-Farisi for being selected as the next Secretary-General (SG) of IORA.
  3. Clean Ocean International Expert Group of the UN Decade for Ocean Science for Sustainable Development will present the “Clean Ocean Manifesto”.
      • The Manifesto will consist of activities to achieve the goals of reducing marine debris by 50% to 90% to reach the goal of a clean ocean by 2030.
      • 2021-2030 is the UN Decade for Ocean Science for Sustainable Development.
      • The above-mentioned expert group is chaired by Angelika Brandt (of Germany) and Elva Escobar Briones (of Mexico).

      • India is the second largest consumer and producer of tobacco. It causes death to 1.35 million people in India every year.

  1. IndusInd Bank has launched the ‘Indus Merchant Solutions’, a one-stop mobile application to enable merchants, retailers and professionals to carry out banking transactions digitally, on a single platform.
      • Any current account holder of Induslnd Bank can instantly download the ‘Indus Merchant Solutions’ app and start using it.
  2. SBI has signed a co-lending agreement with U Gro Capital (an NBFC).
      • Separately, the SBI has also entered into a strategic partnership with Jamshedpur Football Club (JFC), owned by Tata Steel, to support and promote the sport of football in the country.
      • SBI will be one of the principal sponsors of the JFC.
  3. RBI has introduced internal ombudsman mechanism for select-NBFCs.
      • Deposit-taking NBFCs with 10 or more branches and Non-Deposit taking NBFCs with asset size of Rs 5,000 crore and above having public customer interface to appoint Internal Ombudsman (IO) within a period of 6 months, for their redressal of their internal grievances.
      • Exclusions from the mechanisms
        • Standalone Primary Dealers (PDs),
        • NBFC – Infrastructure Finance Companies (NBFC-IFCs),

        • Number of IO in one NBFC – It can be more than one, depending on the number of complaints received/branch network.
        • Tenure – not less than three years but not exceeding five years.
  4. SEBI has released the Investor Charter, which lists out the rights of investors, for protecting their interests in the securities market.
      • The rights include getting fair and equitable treatment, and expecting redressal of investor grievances filed in the SCORES portal in a time-bound manner.
        • The SCORES App was launched in 2020 for investors to register their complaints. SCORES stands for SEBI Complaints Redress System.
        • SCORES platform was launched in 2011.
