      • The launch comes ahead of next month’s mega UN climate meet in Egypt.
      • The action plan – a list of ideas on lifestyle changes that can be taken up as climate-friendly behaviour – along with the logo and tagline for Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) were jointly launched by Modi and Guterres.
      • Mission LiFE will strengthen the concept of a pro-people planet following a three-pronged strategy for changing people’s collective approach towards sustainability.
  8. Union Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Shri Dharmendra Pradhan launched the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage and the pilot project of Balvatika 49 Kendriya Vidyalayas across the country.
      • The new 5+3+3+4 curricular structure integrates Early Childhood Care and Education for all children of ages 3 to 8.
      • Balvatika Classes for students in the age groups of 3+, 4+ and 5+ years of age is being introduced in a set of 49 Kendriya Vidyalayas.
      • Since more than 85% of a child’s cumulative brain development occurs prior to the age of 6, providing appropriate care to stimulate their brain and support their physical and emotional development is essential for every child.
      • All these engagements are aimed at achieving the three developmental goals of maintaining good health and well-being, becoming effective communicators, and becoming involved learners.
  9. “KASHI TAMIL SANGAMAM” will be held from 16th Nov to 19th Dec 2022 in Varanasi (Kashi) under the overall framework and spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat”.
      • Shri Dharmendra Pradhan also launched the website for registering for “KASHI TAMIL SANGAMAM”.
  10. India Government Mint in Kolkata (a Unit of SPMCIL) has launched a Souvenir Coin on the theme of T20 World Cup.
      • The coin is of 40 Grams, 44 Mm Diameter with 999 silver purity.

      • The analysis covers adaptation, mitigation and finance, with 20 detailed country profiles of all G20 members and a summary of key findings. In 2022, the report especially highlights the link between the climate emergency and energy crisis.

  • Over 1.7 million people die in India every year due to stroke, heart disease, lung cancer and chronic respiratory diseases as a result of outdoor air pollution. This is the highest death rate in the G20.

  1. According to the World Steel Association (WSA), the global steel demand will reduce by 2.3% in 2022 due to increasing inflation and high interest rates.
      • Global recovery in steel demand next year is still expected, mainly due to a rise in infrastructure spending, but the growth will be 1% instead of 2.2% as forecast earlier this year.
      • Steel demand in China, which accounts for 51% of global consumption, is forecast to drop by 4% in 2022 and be flat next year.
