      • ISRO will launch 72 satellites of the UK-based Network Access Associates Limited and place them in low Earth orbits under a commercial agreement with NewSpace India Limited.
      • The first set of 36 satellites was launched on October 23, 2022, by the LVM3 M2 launch vehicle.
      • In the second mission on March 26th, 2023, the remaining 36 satellites will be placed in 450 km circular low Earth orbit by LVM3 M3 launch vehicle.
  4. The Central Government has so far disbursed over Rs 2.41 lakh crore to over 11 crore farmers in the country under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN).
      • This scheme has been implemented since 1st December 2018.

  1. Tamil Nadu has announced to provide ₹1000 monthly assistance to eligible women heads of families e.f. September 2023.
      • In Tamil, the assistance is officially known as “Magalir Urimai Thogai,” which means “Women’s Right to Assistance.”
  2. Tamil Nadu Millet Mission has been launched for a period of 5 years. The mission will provide subsidy for bringing millet cultivation to fallow lands and crop diversification to millets in 50,000 acres.
      • The mission would be implemented with financial assistance from the union and State governments at a cost of ₹82 crore.
  3. Ugadi is a Hindu festival, which is celebrated on March 22, 2023. Ugadi is also known as Yugadi.
      • It is the New Year’s Day for the States of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka.
      • On the same day, Marathi and Konkani Hindus celebrated Gudi Padwa – the traditional new year for the Hindus of Maharashtra and Goa.
  4. Bihar Day marks the creation of Bihar and Orissa as separate states on March 22, 1912.
      • Bihar Diwas 2023 will be celebrated from March 22 – 24 on the theme of “Yuva Shakti Bihar Ki Pragati”.
  5. Thanthai Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary has been notified as the 18th wildlife sanctuary of Tamil Nadu.

      • The first season of Elevate commenced at the India Pavilion in Expo 2020 Dubai and featured twenty sessions. The second season began in May 2022, and this episode marks the sixth instalment of the season.

      • States like Punjab, Haryana, Telangana and Tamil Nadu offer completely free power, while other states have provision for collection of token charges.
      • The committee is headed by BJP member Parbatbhai Savabhai Patel/
      • The over-extraction of groundwater for meeting irrigation needs is prevalent mainly in northern states, particularly in Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan, which are extracting 97%, 90% and 86% of groundwater, respectively.
      • Other states such as Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh are also significant users of groundwater for irrigation as they are using approximately 89%, 92% and 90%, respectively, of their total groundwater extraction for agricultural purposes.

  1. Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has added 86 lakh net members in the month of January 2023.
      • Out of 14.86 lakh members added during the month, around 7.77 lakh new members have come under ambit of EPFO for the first time.
      • The age-groups of 18-25 years constitutes 55.52% of total of new members during the month.
      • In terms of net member addition, top five states are Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Delhi. These states together added 58.85% of net member addition during the month.
