  1. Central govt has constituted an eight-member committee, headed by Sunil Sethi (Chairman of Fashion Design Council of India), to double the production and quadruple the exports of handlooms in three years.
      • The panel will submit final report within 45 days.
      • The Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal has set a target to raise handloom production to Rs 1.25 lakh crore from Rs 60,000 crore now and increase handloom exports to Rs 10,000 crore from Rs 2,500 crore in three years’ time.

  1. Arunachal Pradesh govt has approved the credit linked scheme for FY22 to boost agriculture and horticulture in the state.
      • The government has earmarked an subsidy amount of Rs 60 crore against the Atma Nirbhar Krishi Yojana (ANKY) in the Agriculture sector.
      • Rs 60 crore has been allocated for the Atma Nirbhar Bagwani Yojana (ANBY) in the Horticulture sector under the credit-linked schemes.
      • The schemes will be implemented via government subsidy, bank credit and beneficiary contribution in the ratio of 45:45:10.
      • If an individual borrows within the range of Rs 1.6 lakh, no collateral or bank guarantee would be required.
      • For the Self-Help Groups availing the scheme within or up to Rs 10 lakh, no collateral or bank guarantee would be required.
  2. Telangana govt has announced that the Dalit Bandhu scheme will be rolled out to government staff and retired employees in the fourth phase.
      • In the Dalit Bandhu scheme, direct benefit transfer of up to Rs 10 lakh per family is given to the Dalit families to empower them and give them entrepreneurial opportunities.

      • Tiwa Tribe, also known as Lalung, is an agriculture community.
      • This community is recognized as a Scheduled Tribe (ST) within the state of Assam.
