  1. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah has inaugurated the two-day National Security Strategies (NSS) Conference 2022 in New Delhi.
  2. National Fisheries Development Board (NPFB) has conducted its 9th governing body meeting in New Delhi, which is chaired by Minister of Fisheries Parshottam Rupala.
  3. Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh has launched India’s first truly indigenously developed Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus, developed by KPIT Technologies and CSIR in Pune.
  4. A two-day National Conference on Women in Police was conducted in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh.

  1. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah has inaugurated the two-day National Security Strategies (NSS) Conference 2022 in New Delhi.
      • During the conference, Shri Amit Shah has inaugurated the National Automated Fingerprint Identification System (NAFIS), developed by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB). This System will help in quick and easy disposal of cases with the help of centralized finger print database.
  2. National Fisheries Development Board (NPFB) has conducted its 9th governing body meeting in New Delhi, which is chaired by Minister of Fisheries Parshottam Rupala.
      • On this occasion, Parshottam Rupala released a book on Super Success Stories from Indian Fisheries.
      • An online marketplace feature – ‘Aqua Bazar’ in “Matsya Setu” app – was also launched to help the fish farmers and stakeholders to source the inputs such as fish seed, feed and medicines and services required for fish culture.
      • Matsya Setu app was developed by ICAR-Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (ICAR-CIFA), Bhubaneswar.

  1. Central government has planned to collaborate with the Arunachal Pradesh government to develop a “district good governance portal” for monitoring the performance of each district of the state on a monthly basis and help in benchmarking performance.
      • The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) under the Ministry of Personnel will develop the portal.
      • Union Minister Jitendra Singh made the announcement during the two-day Regional Conference on “Bringing Citizens and Government Closer through Administrative Reforms” at Itanagar.

Agriculture and Rural Development

  1. Technology Development Board (TDB), a statutory body under the Department of Science and Technology, has extended support to M/s Fountainhead Agro farms Private Limited for the ‘Advanced, Intensive, All Male Tilapia Aquaculture Project with Israeli Technology’.
      • Out of the total project cost of Rs. 29.78 crores, TDB has already provided loan assistance of Rs. 8.42 crores to the company.
      • The company aims to set up a complete production line (from breeding to full fish) in Mudhol (Karnataka).
      • Objective – to produce 500 tons of Tilapia from the parent broodstock ‘Hermon’, which will be imported from Nir David Fish Breeding Farm, Israel
      • Aquaculture Production Technology Limited (APTIL), Israel has provided technology for the cultivation to Fountainhead.

      About Tilapia and Hermon –

        • Tilapia is also known as aquatic chicken due to its quick growth and low maintenance cultivation.
        • It has emerged to be one of the most productive and internationally traded food fish in the world.
        • Tilapia is created from its parent
        • Hermon is a hybrid of two selected strains of Tilapia, namely Oreochromis Niloticus (Male) and Oreochromis Aureus (Female).
        • It is known for special characteristics such as high growth rate, resistance to low temperature, light (attractive) colour, all hybrid fry progeny of males only, without the conventional system of usage of hormones.

      • The IAF contingent, led by Group Captain YPS Negi, comprises over 100 air warriors, deployed with four Su-30 MKI fighter and two C-17 aircraft.
  3. A first of its kind, Composite Indoor Shooting Range (CISR) was inaugurated at INS Karna by the Vice Admiral Biswajit Dasgupta, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command.
      • The CISR is a state of the art, self-contained, 25 m, six lane, live firing range for all primary and secondary weapons in the Navy.
      • INS Karna is the first in the Navy and perhaps the only military unit in the country to set up and use CISR presently.
