      • Leonard Hayflick, a pioneering biomedical researcher who passed away at 98, is renowned for discovering the Hayflick limit, which revealed that normal somatic cells can only divide a limited number of times.
      • This discovery shifted the understanding of aging by showing that it is partly due to cellular senescence, where non-dividing cells accumulate, contributing to the aging process.
