      • Purpose – to address the need for skilled and future-ready workforce in the Central Public Sector Undertaking and Industries
      • Under the collaboration, more than 250 apprentices have been engaged in the BDL facility in Hyderabad where ‘Astra’ missile is manufactured.
  4. Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF), which was launched in July 2020, has mobilised over Rs 30,000 crore for taking up projects related to creation of post-harvest management facilities.
      • The AIF is a financing facility for creation of post-harvest management infrastructure and community farm assets.
      • Under this scheme, Rs 1 lakh crore is to be disbursed by financial year 2025-26 and the interest subvention and credit guarantee assistance will be given till the year 2032-33.
      • Within two-and-a-half years of the implementation of the AIF, the scheme has mobilised more than Rs 30,000 crore for projects in the agriculture infrastructure sector. Of which, Rs 15,000 crore has been allocated for projects.

  1. Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ministry approved an “Apple Cluster” for Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district under the Cluster Development Programme.
      • This was announced during a daylong conference on ‘India Cold Chain Conclave’, organised by the Ministry in conjunction with the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi.
      • The ‘Apple Cluster’ project is estimated to cost Rs 135.23 crore, of which, about Rs 37.05 crore would be provided by the Ministry as grant-in-aid.
      • The project is expected to be implemented in four years.

  1. NASA Administrator Bill Nelson has announced USA’s plans to test a spacecraft engine powered with nuclear fission by 2027.
      • NASA will partner with the US military’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) to develop the nuclear thermal propulsion engine and launch it into space.
      • The project has been named the Demonstration Rocket for Agile Cislunar Operations (DRACO).
  2. Uganda has one of the largest oil reserves in Africa. It has 6.5 billion barrels of oil reserves, of which 1.4 billion is recoverable.
      • China and France have invested $10 billion in Uganda’s oil drilling project at Lake Albert.
      • The oil will be extracted in four phases and the first phase of the project has been launched now.
