      • Navy’s INS Kochi and Teg, along with P-8I long-range maritime patrol aircraft and MiG 29K fighters, are participating in the exercise.
  2. DRDO has test-fired its subsonic cruise nuclear-capable missile Nirbhay with a range of 1000-km from the Integrated Test Range (ITR) at Chandipur off Odisha coast.
      • The missile keeps on encircling the area of its target for several minutes and then hits the ‘bull’s eye’ at an opportune time.

  1. 16th Meeting of Security Council Secretaries of Shanghai Corporation Organisation (SCO) member states was held at Dushanbe (Tajikistan’s capital).
      • India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval attended it.
      • Tajikistan is the Current President of SCO.

  1. UN has released the “Annual Report on Children and Armed Conflict” (CAAC).
      • More than 19,300 children – affected by war in 2020 – were victims of grave violence like abduction, recruitment, and sexual violence.
      • Grave violations against children remained “alarmingly high” at nearly 26,500 as the pandemic increased the vulnerability.
      • Abductions rose by a staggering 90% last year. Rape and other forms of sexual violence also increased by 70%.
  2. QS Executive MBA Rankings 2021 has been released to assess the MBA courses provided by different universities.
      • Top ranker – HEC Paris followed by Penn (Wharton) and IESE Business school, Spain.
      • India – IIM-Bangalore has ranked at 39th rank with a score of 61.8.
      • In the Asia-Pacific region, IIM-Bangalore is ranked at 10th position.
      • Parameters – Employer Reputation, Diversity, Thought Leadership, Executive Profile, and Career Outcomes.

  1. Reliance Industries Ltd has announced to invest Rs 75,000 crores in the clean energy, in its 44th annual general meeting.
      • Also, RIL announced to partner with Google Cloud to launch 5G services in India.
      • The Chairman of the Saudi Aramco Yasir Al-Rumayyan will join the board of RIL as an independent director.
      • RIL has also announced to set up India’s 1st Carbon Fibre Manufacturing Unit to cater to aerospace and defence needs.
  2. RBI has issued guidelines for distribution of dividends by NBFCs.
      • RBI linked the declaration of dividend by NBFCs to their minimum prudential norms on Capital to Risk-Weighted Assets Ratio (CRAR) and Non-Performing Assets (NPAs).
      • Purpose – to ensure that NBFCs should be acting conservatively when the balance sheets are under significant pressure and thereby conserve capital and not distribute dividends to shareholders.
      • These guidelines shall be applicable to all NBFCs regulated by RBI including:
          • Housing Finance Companies (HFCs)
          • Core Investment Companies (CICs)
          • Mortgage Guarantee Companies
          • Standalone Primary Dealers (SPDs)
          • NBFC-Peer to Peer Lending Platform (NBFC-P2P)
          • NBFC- Account Aggregator (NBFC-AA)
          • NBFC – Systemically Important Non-Deposit taking Company and Deposit taking
          • NBFC – Non-Systemically Important Non-Deposit taking Company

  3. According to Bank for International Settlements’ data, the credit to GDP ratio of banks in India has increased to 56% in 2020, which is a five year high record.
      • The total outstanding bank credit stood at $1.52 trillion in the country in 2020.
      • Incremental credit growth was 5.56% in FY21, which is the lowest since 1962.
  4. Clovia (women’s personal care brand) and Alliance Insurance have launched a tailor-made insurance policy, “Women’s cancer shield” for breast cancer female patients.
      • 14% of Indian women suffer with breast cancer.

  5. World bank has approved the $125 million Kerala Resilient Program for supporting the state in preparing against natural disasters, climate change impacts, disease outbreaks, and pandemics.
      • The Resilient Kerala Program will focus on two key areas.
      • First, it will incorporate disaster risk planning in the master plans of urban and local self-governments to ease financial constraints on the state government when faced with unexpected shocks.
      • Second, it will help make the health, water resources management, agriculture, and road sectors more resilient to calamities.
