  1. India has signed an implementing arrangement on the joint development of a small satellite for Bhutan.
      • ISRO has signed agreement with Department of Department of Information Technology and Telecom, Bhutan.
      • Last year, India and Bhutan had signed an agreement for collaboration on peaceful uses of outer space.
  2. National Commission for Women has launched a country-wide ‘Training and Capacity Building Program for Women in Dairy Farming’.
      • Under the project, NCW will select women self-help groups, women-run milk cooperatives, and women entrepreneurs for training them in different aspects such as value addition, quality enhancement, packaging and marketing of dairy products, among others.
      • Trainers will also be selected by NCW.
      • The first event under the program was organized on ‘Value Added Dairy products’ for women SHG groups at Lala Lajpat Rai University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Hisar, Haryana in association with Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission.
      • At first, the program will focus on creating a sustainable model in the dairy sector at the district level. Later on, it will be adopted in dairy farming regions of the country.

      • The National Commission for Women was set up as statutory body in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 for women empowerment.

      • 2nd MoU – Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), US for cooperation on International Centre for Excellence in Research (ICER).
  5. IIT-Delhi has set up a ‘Centre of Excellence on Quantum Technologies’ in a bid to conduct research activities in the Quantum technologies.
  6. The Government will launch a month-long nationwide Clean India Drive to clean waste, mainly single-use plastic, from 1st October to 31st October this year.
      • It will be the largest cleanliness drive of the world in which more than 75 lakh tonnes of waste, primarily plastic waste, from different parts of the country will be collected and further processed in a Waste to Wealth model.

  1. Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar launched ”Samarpan Portal” wherein people can register themselves to offer voluntary service in the fields of education, skill development, sports and agriculture.
      • Citizens can offer their services in the field of education, women and child development, farmer welfare and skill development under state govt schemes.
      • The portal was launched on the 105th birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyay (on Sept 25).
      • The birth anniversary of Deendayal Upadhyay is celebrated as Antyodaya Diwas (Sept 25) and the death anniversary is celebrated as Samarpan Diwas (Feb 11).
  2. Sojat Mehndi from Rajasthan has received the geographical indication (GI) tag. Sojat Mehndi originates from mehndi leaves grown in Sojat.
      • Judima, a home-made rice wine of Assam’s Dimasa tribe has become the first traditional brew in all of northeast to get a GI tag.
      • Cucumber from Nagaland has got a GI tag. These cucumbers are grown organically as part of the Jhum cultivation. These are rich in potassium.
  3. Union Textile Minister Piyush Goyal has announced the setting up of Weaver Services and Design Resource Centre in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.
      • The centre will be jointly started by the centre and the state govt.
      • The announcement was made during an interaction programme with handicrafts and handloom artisans organized under ‘Seva and Samarpan Abhiyan’ in Kullu.
  4. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan has inaugurated “Digital Hub” at Technology Innovation Zone (TIZ) in Kochi under the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM).
      • The digital hub is spread across an area of 2 lac sq. ft. and it has a capacity to support 200 start-ups.
      • The digital hub has a host of facilities like incubators, accelerators, and centre of excellence in emerging technologies to support startups.
      • Integrated Startup ComplexIndia’s largest incubation facility (spread across 2 lac sq. ft.) – was set up in 2019 at the TIZ in Kerala.
      • With this, the technology innovation zone has become the largest start-up space in Southeast Asia.
      • The state govt aims to have 15,000 startups in the next five years.
      • For this, Kerala Bank, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation (KSIDC), Kerala Finance Corporation (KFC)and Kerala State Financial Enterprises (KSFE) have jointly proposed to set up a venture capital fund of Rs 250 crore to promote start-ups.
  5. Kerala govt has announced a welfare fund for employees of the Information Technology (IT) and information technology-enabled services (ITES) to assure a pension of Rs 3000 for them.
      • Beneficiaries will get Rs 15000 for medical treatment.
      • Over 1.5 lakh employees will be benefitted.

      • This will benefits ICICI Bank FASTag commercial vehicle users as they can use one tag for fuel, toll & parking payments.
      • HPCL is the first oil marketing company in India to enable FASTag for fuel purchases by retail as well as commercial customers at its 19,000 outlets pan-India.
      • In March, HPCL launched a first-of-its-kind EV charger named “ChargeGrid Flare”, in collaboration with Magenta EV Systems, under its start-up development programme.
      • ICICI Bank HPCL Coral Credit Card provides discounts on fuel purchases.
  2. India has emerged as Dubai’s second biggest trading partner after China, according to Dubai government’s statement.
      • India’s overall volume touched 38.5 billion dirham in the first half of 2021.
      • Trade with India has increased by 74.5% year-on-year to 67.1 billion dirhams in 2021 from 38.5 billion dirham in H1 of year 2020.
  3. Government has formed a Group of Ministers (GoM), chaired by Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj S. Bommai, for proposing a rationalisation of tax rates and considering the merger of different tax slabs under Goods and Services Tax within two months.
      • Currently, the GST regime has five broad tax rate slabs of 0%, 5%, 12%, 18% and 28%, with a cess levied over and above the 28% on some goods, and special rates for items like precious stones and diamonds.
