  1. Indian Railways is installing Real-Time Train Information System (RTIS) to automatically track train movements in real-time.
      • The RTIS was jointly developed by the Indian Railways and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
      • It is currently being executed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS).
  2. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has launched an operation named Megha Chakra to curtail the Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM).
  3. Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has announced to launch the ‘Swachh Toycathon’ – a convergence between the National Action Plan for Toys (NAPT) 2020 and SBM 2.0 – to explore solutions for use of waste in creation or manufacturing of toys.
      • NAPT was introduced to promote the Indian toy industry including traditional handicrafts and handmade toys with the objective of establishing India as a global Toy hub.
      • Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), along with 14 ministries of Central Government, is currently implementing various aspects of the NAPT.
      • The second phase of Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM 2.0) was launched on 1st October 2021 to create ‘Garbage Free’ cities by 2026.
      • The competition will be hosted on MyGov’s Innovate India portal.
  4. ‘Make in India’ scheme – launched in 2014 – has completed 8 years.
      • Progress made by the scheme
        • A total of 27 sectors impacted.
        • FDI flows – increased from $45.15 billion in 2014-15 to $83.6 billion in 2021-22
        • FDI investments from 101 countries across 31 UTs and States and 57 sectors in the country.

      • The Jaldoot app will enable Gram Rojgar Sahayak (GRS) to measure the water level of selected wells twice a year (pre-monsoon and post-monsoon).
  8. “One Week One Lab” theme-based campaign has been launched to showcase the technological breakthroughs and innovations in each of the 37 CSIR laboratories/institutes spread across the country.
      • It was announced during the first-ever CSIR Leadership Meet attended by the Directors and Head of Departments of all the 37 CSIR labs across the country.
  9. The Central govt has provided 7,385 crores to 88 Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs) from the Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS).
      • The Fund of Funds for Startups (FFS) was launched under Startup India initiative in 2016 for mobilizing domestic capital in Indian startup ecosystem.
      • The FFS has committed 11,206 crores in 720 startups.
      • FFS was announced with a corpus of Rs 10,000 crores. The corpus is to be built up over 14th and 15th Finance Commission Cycles (FY 2016-2020 and FY 2021-2025) through budgetary support by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry.
      • Under FFS, support is extended to SEBI registered Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), which in turn invest in startups.
      • Collectively, the AIFs supported by FFS have a target corpus of over 48,000 crores.
