      • The India-U.K. Commonwealth Diplomatic Academy programme will be hosted in New Delhi.
  2. Ahmedabad-based Indian Space Promotion and Authorisation Centre (IN-SPACe) has authorised Dhruva Space Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad and Digantara Research & Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru to launch their payloads in space.
      • The payloads would fly onboard PSLV Orbital Experimental Module (POEM) of PSLV-C53 on June 30.
      • Name of the payloads (satellites) – Dhruva Space’s Dhruva Space Satellite Orbital Deployer (DSOD 1U) and ROBust Integrating Proton Fluence Meter (ROBI) of Digantara’s.
      • Separately, National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC) of ISRO has organised a three-day training course for better utilisation of ‘Bhuvan’ portal (ISRO’s Geoportal platform).
  3. Minister of Communications, Ashwini Vaishnaw, has launched the ‘Dak Karmayogi’ – an e-learning portal for the officials of Department of Posts.
      • Dak Karmayogi portal has been developed under the vision of ‘Mission Karmayogi’ to increase the effectiveness of the post office personnel.
  4. ISRO Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) has received the crew module fairing (CMF) for Gaganyaan mission.
      • CMF is a critical structure that will protect the Gaganyaan module carrying the astronauts during launch.
      • The CMF was manufactured by Alpha Design Technology Limited’s (ADTL) fully owned subsidiary Alpha Tocol Engineering Services in Bengaluru.

State News

  1. Assam Cabinet has formed a joint venture company – Assam Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (ARIDCL) – with the Ministry of Railway to increase the railway network in the state.
      • In JV, state government will hold a share of 51% and the ministry the remaining 49%.
      • The Cabinet decided to launch a programme ‘Arohan’ for classes 9 to 12 from 2022-23 with an allocated budget of Rs 5.96 crore to guide talented students in the 13-18 age group.
  2. Maharashtra Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture has partnered with Bombay Stock Exchange to promote and create awareness in the state on the benefits of listing on its SME platform.
      • As part of this collaboration, BSE will provide training and capacity-building programmes to MACCIA officials.
  3. Karnataka has launched the ‘Kashi Yatra’ project to offer cash assistance of ₹5,000 each to around 30,000 pilgrims to take up a pilgrimage to the Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.
      • Rs 7 crores have been allocated for the scheme.
  4. New building of the Telangana’s T-Hub (business incubator) has been established at Hyderabad.
      • It is claimed to be the world’s largest innovation campus.
      • T-Hub was established in 2015 at IIT-Hyderabad.
  5. Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD) has launched the “One Health” pilot project in Bengaluru.
      • Purpose – for improving national and State-level resource allocation and policy ecosystem on early prediction, detection, and diagnosis of zoonotic diseases through increased quality, availability, and utility of data evidence
      • One Health is a multi-sectoral approach that takes into consideration human, animal and environmental health and the interconnectivity and interdependence of these three elements.

International News

  1. Commonwealth countries have adopted a ‘Living Lands Charter’ in line with the strategy set for the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
      • The ‘Living land’ charter was adopted during the 2022 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kigali (Rwanda).
      • Objective
        • To safeguard global land resources and arrest land degradation while acting against climate change, biodiversity loss and towards sustainable management.
        • To hold the global average temperature increase to 1.5 degrees Celsius.
        • To realise the objectives of the three Rio conventions — UN Convention on Biological Diversity, UN Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) and UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
  2. G7 countries have established a Climate Club at the G7 Summit 2022 in Bavaria, Germany.
      • Purpose – accelerating climate action and increasing ambition, with a particular focus on the industry sector.

      • Protean accepts and processes PAN applications on behalf of the Income Tax Department, Government of India.
