   • Sri Aurobindo, born on 15th August 1872, was a visionary who made lasting contributions to India’s freedom struggle. He died on 5 December 1950.

State News

1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 520-km-long phase-1 of the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi Mahamarg in Maharashtra.
   • The stretch, which connects Nagpur and Shirdi, will be opened.
   • The longest operational expressway in the country, Samruddhi Mahamarg is expected to reduce travel time between Nagpur and Mumbai from 16 hours to eight hours.

• In total, PM launched 11 projects worth Rs 75,000 crores in Nagpur.
• The state-of-the-art facilities at AIIMS Nagpur was launched.

2. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurated the 5th edition of Kochi-Muziris Biennale, the country’s largest contemporary art exhibition.
   • The art exhibition was organized on the theme of ‘In Our Veins Flow Ink and Fire’.
   • The KMB was launched in 2012, and this year marks the 10th anniversary of the biennial event.
3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the All-India Institute of Ayurveda in Dhargal, Goa.
   • He also addressed the 9th World Ayurveda Congress (WAC) and Arogya Expo in Goa.
   • National Institute of Unani Medicine at Ghaziabad and National Institute of Homeopathy in New Delhi were also inaugurated virtually.
   • PM Narendra Modi has announced that India will have National Ayush Research Consortium.

   • The first Session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC) to phase out plastic was held in Uruguay from November 28 to December 2, 2022.
   • International Alliance of Waste Pickers is a networking process of that connects and supports thousands of waste picker organisations in over 28 countries.
2. European Space Agency (ESA) has informed that an asteroid not larger than the Statue of Liberty is travelling towards the Earth.
   • The asteroid has been named 2015 RN35.

1. Jaypee Group has signed a binding agreement to sell the group’s cement business to Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd at an enterprise value of Rs 5,666 crore.
2. HDFC Bank has launched the sixth annual grants program for social startups in partnership with the ‘Startup India’ program of the government.
   • The program is known as Parivartan SmartUp Grants.
   • It aims to identify startups working in the social impact space and support them through monetary grants.
   • The grants have been offered under the aegis of Parivartan, the umbrella name for the HDFC bank’s social initiatives.
   • So far, the bank has disbursed over Rs 30 crore to more than 45 incubators which supported over 165 start-ups.
