Indonesia’s internet economy is the largest in the region, according to the e-Conomy SEA report

e-Conomy SEA report released by Google, Temasek and Bain & Company mentions that internet economy in Southeast Asia is set to touch $100 billion for the first time in 2019.
• Indonesia and Vietnam were leading the six countries, with their average annual internet growth rate exceeding 40% since 2015.

India generates 9.46 million tonnes of plastic waste in a year

India generates 9.46 million tonnes (MT) of plastic waste a year, half of which is single-use plastic. And every year, 8 MT of plastic ends up in the oceans.
• India implemented the Plastic Waste Management Rules in 2016 which marks plastic as per categories— 1 for PET, 4 for low density polyethylene, 5 for polypropylene —to ensure that the right industrial process is used for recycling.

India, China and Pakistan partnered provide climate forecast services for Hindu-Kush-Himalayan region

India Meteorological Department (IMD) will collaborate with meteorological agencies in China and Pakistan to provide climate forecast services to countries in the Hindu-Kush-Himalayan (HKH) region.
• A Regional Climate Centre would be set up as part of this collaboration. It will be under the World Meteorological Organisation.
